Description of my issue:

Hi Nicholas,

I am in the process of helping a fellow web developer automate backing up their client sites (close to 100) to Amazon S3. Of course, Akeeba Backup Pro is the tool of choice for this :)

They've also asked for a way to backup on demand, and it seems that Remote CLI is the way to go. I'm wondering of there might be a way to feed Remote CLI a list of the hostnames, actions, secretKeys ... etc so that we can just update these lists when they add sites and reuse those lists for the various actions and options? Or, how would you do this (as I'm sure you do already ;) ?

Any thoughts or recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Best,

Matt

Hi Matt,

I'm not using Remote CLI on such a big scale. The majority of my sites support CRON jobs and for the few that don't I'm using webcron.org. There are only two sites I'm using Remote CLI on.

You can always create a flat text file and loop it with a bash script, feeding the info to Remote CLI. That's the closest thing I can think of to what you asked.
