I've got a simple question. Been sing this and i'm liking how it works but after installation there's sort of a "double entry" in regards to updating joomla. Naturally under the "components" menu there's the one for "Akeeba CMS Update"  but there's also the Joomla! native one called "Joomla! Update". Can that latter one safely be deactivated when CMS update is installed or will that adversely impact the actual ability of CMS Update to actually do the updating of Joomla! itself?

Hello Wim,

I think you could do that, but I strongly suggest you not doing that. Core components are used in several parts of your site, so disabling one of them could lead to issues.

Hmmm, must have missed this ticket auto-mail. I get that, but bare with me from 1 more question. Isn't the "Component > joomla update" seperate from the "extensions > updater" or do they share parts of code/functionality. If they do, or there's even a remote chance i aint disabling it :)

Yes, they are two pieces of the same "machine", so you shouldn't touch them.
