I setup UNiTE to work on a cron to restore the archive on a test directory and url. I want to automate restoration confirmation.

To confirm the restore I was thinking about using zabbix to check for a word on the site or to test login.

Is there something built-in, or an easier way that you've discovered? Maybe checking a hash??

What you have in mind is pretty much the concept I am employing as well. I have a Bash script which downloads the backup from S3 into our NAS, copies it over to our local test server, runs UNiTE on it and uses Selenium to check the existence of expected elements in different pages of the restored site. I wouldn't say it's an easier implementation than what you have in mind, it's just the toolset I am familiar with as a developer.

thanks for the idea. I'll look into Selenium, too.
