I have 3 important websites that I like to get it configured with remote backup. 1 website already was working with that. Now I updated the tools pack so I lost the settings. So please help me get it done.

The three website have plugin installed and web services enabled. Component installed and manual backup working fine.

So now I just need the remote facility. Please guide me.

Now let us start with 2 websites 1st :

EnS
Vision Media

I need your help badly...

eyashwant
Here I am attaching more images to get you more information.

The above is the error with 1 kind of configuration.

eyashwant
Sorry for many posts. I don't know how to post many images in a single post. I struggled a lot in putting the image in. I have 4 images in total. Sorry for 4 posts. Please don't punish me or scold me for that. I am not spanning. I am doing it in intention to provide you with more information so that you can solve the problem easily.

The above image is another configuration I tried

eyashwant
I don't know, the image did not appear in the last post. Please paste that link in your browser to see the image. I know you know it. Just it is my duty to help the ones who helps me.

More over this below is the image of the Expert Mode . I get the error when I click on Get Profiles

I tried reading the documentation but cannot find any hopes as it does not deal with any errors.

As told in the documentation I tried with and without http:// and got the same results.

eyashwant
This is regarding the version.

Now that I have provided all from my side, now it is up to you to get mine solved sir. More over regarding the other 2 websites we will check once we get the 1st one completed.

Please help as I need it badly...

These are my notes from Nicholas about troubleshooting Remote:
You can use the on-line XML-RPC debugger to see for yourself what's going on. In the address enter your site's domain, e.g. www.example.com (WITHOUT the http://). In the port field, enter 80. In the path, enter the path to Joomla!'s XML-RPC server, normally /xmlrpc/index.php.

When you click on Execute (second row, far right on the page) you should get a "List of available methods on server" on the bottom half of the page. If there is no method starting with "joomlapack.", your plug-in is either not installed or not enabled, as the application tells you.

Do note that sometimes you have to omit www. Try our site to understand what I mean. If you enter www.joomlapack.net, it can't list the web services methods. If you enter joomlapack.net, it can. It has to do with .htaccess setup. Also make sure that your .htaccess doesn't disable access to the XML-RPC directory.

If you see methods, but not JoomlaPack's ones, you ought to have read the manual, as it tells that you have to install plg_jpremote, enable Joomla!'s Web Services AND go to Extensions -> Plug-ins and enable (publish) the JoomlaPack Remoting XML-RPC API plugin. If you do that, the JoomlaPack methods will show up in the debugger and you should be able to use JoomlaPack Remote without a problem.
I'm not sure we're going to find the answer to a 403 error there. :( Nicholas is offline, he is way too close to the fires outside Athens. He will be back when the smoke clears.

I apologize for being so slow to get to this, I was at a conference over the weekend and did not anticipate being offline for most of four days. :(

Sir, so I think I have done plugin configuration properly. I have also attached what I did in Native Tools configuration. So please let me know the reason why it is not functioning properly. I need it badly sir. I know you can get this solved. I believe in you... :)

dlb
I agree, the plugin is working properly. I didn't really think we were going to find the 403 there, but that is one step that is done and if Nicholas needs the information, it is there. We're going to have to wait for him to get back to go any further. He anticipated being back online tomorrow, but with wildfires that's just a guess. I haven't heard from him since yesterday morning.

Thank you for your understanding of the delay in support. We strive for much faster responses, but the past few days have given us some challenges.

Hello there again! I remember that you were one of the first people to use and ask for support with Remote. Welcome back!

As you figured out, you have to use the Expert Mode for configuring your site. Your problem is with the Expert Mode page's URL to XML-RPC mode. You are not supposed to use the http prefix in there. This means that in this box you should enter:
www.ens.org.in/xmlrpc/index.php

Then, you MUST use Port 80 (not 1 as you have right there) and it should work like a charm.

As you said, the debugger showed that everything is installed and enabled properly. If you do these 2 modifications in your configuration you'll be ready to go :D

I have no words to say. You ROCK!
I got my websites configured. But I will let you know once the download is completed successfully.

In one of my websites I am using JoomlaPack 2.1.b2 (2009-01-29 20:42:19)

So how to upgrade to latest 2.3.1

Please give me a tip.

I will inform of the happenings...

More over if possible, please accept me as a friend to have a long term relationship. I am lucky to have a social minded man as my friend.

eyashwant
I forgot to tell you...

I am also now trying to use KickStart for the 1st time. I will also let you know how it ends. But please let me know about updating it as soon as possible.

dlb
The 2.3.1 version works fine under php5, but php4 support was inadvertently broken in this release. The php4 support will be restored in the upcoming 2.3.2 release. I don't have an expected release date on that, but I think it will be in the next few days.

That is fine. But please tell me how to upgrade from the older version that I stated in previous post to the present version. More over kickstart worked fine but it left joompack.log from copying. I think it removed that one too or did not backup...

Upgrading is actually as simple as installing. JoomlaPack is making use of the component update feature available in Joomla! 1.5.5 and greater. You just install the new version on top of the old one and the upgrade is complete.

I don't get what you're saying about Kickstart and the log file. Kickstart doesn't produce any log file and restoring your backup log file is not possible; it is part of the output directory which is purposefully excluded from backup to avoid an infinite backup loop (trying to backup the backup file).

Thanks. I did that for 2 websites. One website that was restored from Joompack, I cannot do that for it.
Latest Joomla version with Joompack 2.3.1
I want to upgrade it to 2.3.2
But I get error

* JFTP::mkdir: Bad response

* JFTP::mkdir: Bad response

* Unable to create destination

Unable to find install package

I tried another module and same problem. But same thing is getting installed in other websites.

So please help me solve it. Now I cannot edit the site as I have spent time on it and so please help me restore these damaged files if any and help me get the job done as soon as possible.

What I meant is when I restored the site the joompack.log file which has to be in backup folder was not there. So download failed. Then I maually added that. So please help me get the site back to normal.

The site I am talking about now is Vidiyal

More over using Joopack Remote I downloaded 1 website successfully. Another is on progress. I will update when it is done.

Please help me asap.

dlb
The JFTP errors are errors coming from Joomla!'s ftp layer. These settings are in the Joomla! Global Configuration file. This is not required in all installations, you may be able to bypass the error by simply turning the ftp layer off. If you need it, the connection parameters and path need to be correct.

The backup log is not included in the backup archive, it never is. It is not required for the proper operation of JoomlaPack. I still don't understand what the issue is.
