Hi,

My backup has been working fine, but all of a sudden it stopped working and gave me the cube not initialized error. After looking around I found this may be due to space issues, so I cleared some space and there is now definitely enough there.

Except now I am getting an error saying Invalid payload received from xml-rpc server.

When I look at the backup log it shows this:
Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 32554433 bytes) in /var/web/pro/auto/xxxx/htdocs/****istrator/components/com_joomlapack/classes/engine/packer/zip.php on line 254

The last thing it backs up before failing is:
/var/web/pro/auto/xxxx/htdocs/****istrator/components/com_config/views/application

I can't find the php.ini file to adjust the memory limit, I think my host hides it somewhere where I can't get to it.

Does anyone know what maybe causing this and how to fix it? I'm not aware of any large files being added to the server.

Also if I change from ZIP to JPA, the backup works fine.

Thanks,
Michael

The jpa format is a little easier on server resources than zip, it doesn't have to calculate the CRC32 checksums. I wouldn't expect it to make that much difference in memory, the difference in speed can be significant.

Please zip and post your backup log, that will give me some more information about what is going on. Snippets are nice, but the whole log tells a better story.

On a commercial host you normally do not have access to the php.ini file where the memory limit is set.

Please try using the JPA format instead of ZIP.
