Hi, i have a little thing, but it's quite annoying.
When you restore a backup on windows (ie locally), the Directory Separator is \
But Kickstart reads this char as an escape, so the temp and the log path are wrong after the restore:
D:\xampp\mysite\tmp

becomes
D: amppmysite mp

as you can see the \t of "tmp" becomes a "tab".

is there a way to prevent this?
just my 2 cents

Oh, am I glad you figured that out! I would never have thought of escaped characters. :( Windows will also support the Linux style forward directory separators too. Use the forward slashes for now. I'll flag this for Nicholas too.

Duh! Stupid Windows with their non-standard path separators... I'll try to fix it, but which version of Kickstart displayed this issue? 2.4.1 or 3.0.rc1?

btw,i think there is another little annoying thing.
Akeeba pack up the Thumbs.db files too :D
So, as you can image, you get an error when ou're trying to unpack it.

I know it's a stupid thing, but why you shouldn't aim to perfection? You're almost there :D

With Akeeba Backup Core you have to manually exclude the Thumbs.db files using the Files and Directories filter. With Akeeba Backup Professional you can use the RegEx Files and Directories Filters page to add "Thumbs.db" as a global filter. As soon as you do that, all those files will be skipped from the backup set.

Alternatively, you can extract using Akeeba eXtract Wizard with "Ignore most errors" turned on. This will eliminate the errors when trying to unpack the Thumbs.db files.
