#3667 Directories with Large Files?

I found out that the thing wouldn't back up cause some of the directories had too many, large files in them.

But what do I do when I do need to backup huge files like that? Just FTP'm?

Which version are you using? Akeeba Backup 3.0.1 and later should not have any problem with large files, unless you are on a dead slow host or run out of disk space. In that case the only way to backup those files would be FTP'ing them.

That's what I decided to do, I'm just skipping those directories.

Besides the person I'm working with says that she has the mounds of photos that were preventing the backup, on her machine anyhow; they aren't important to the backup.

Yup, that's the easiest solution and, IMHO, best one as you don't have to transfer dozens upon dozens of Mb of photos -which never really change- every time you perform a backup.
