Good afternoon,
When i am running the Akeeba Remote Control it keeps stopping after downloading for a will. My site is about 500mb in size. I have broken it down into 20mb sizes. It downloads them very well for a will then stops and just sites there. Then gives me the the FTP error
[29/12 14:06:16] Got download progress signal: 37395456 / 52428800 bytes
[29/12 14:06:16] Download failed: Data timeout. Reconnect. Sorry.
[29/12 14:06:16] Download failed: FTP transport error:
If i tern on "Try to keep FTP connection alive" it doesn't download at all. I have "Use FTP active mode" checked. What would be causing this or what can i check to solve this problem? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Justin

Both the "active mode" and "keep alive" options are special purpose settings. Most ftp servers don't like them. Please try your download with both settings unchecked.

Why does it look like it is still downloading it all as one big file even when have it is a bunch of smaller files? Is this the total download progress?
Thank you for your help so far.

It is always the total size (of all files) reported there. Your FTP server hangs up the connection despite the fact that we're still transferring files. You can't do much about it other than wait for me to release Akeeba Remote Control 4.0.1 tomorrow which doesn't use FTP to transfer files from your server to your PC.

What does it you to transfer the file? Will I need to update my extension to be able to download the file or is 4.0.1 Remote compatible with Akeeba Backup 3.1.5 (stable)? Thanks for you help I will be downloading as soon as I can to try and get this problem fixed.

No, Remote Control 4 requires Akeeba Backup 3.2.b2 or later to work. The 3.2.x series of the Akeeba Backup component contain a JSON API which can be used to backup your site, administer and download your backup files. Remote Control 4 uses that instead of the XML-RPC API as Joomla!'s XML-RPC layer has proven to be a major source of headache and was ultimately removed from the CMS in its upcoming 1.6 release.
