Hi there, I've installed Remote v 4.02, but I'm getting error messages when I try to set up my first site backup.

I try to get the profiles and get the message attached. I've enabled remote and front-end backups, set up a password and saved it, and have the latest akeeba beta installed.

I do have NOD32 antivirus installed. (When I downloaded and installed Remote it was off.) When I disabled it and then run Remote, I get the same error message (although once the error message changed to "non-JSON data received").

So, any ideas? Looks like a great update by the way!

This is caused by a bug in the component, not Remote Control itself. I am finalizing my work on fixing some bugs and will post a developer's release (available from https://www.akeebabackup.com/latest towards the bottom of the page) in a few minutes. Look for developer's release 383 or later.

Hi again,

I installed the 383 update, but now I get a message that says "JSON decoding error". Then I see "Non-JSON data received".

Couldn't get the error log to save, so 2 screenshots attached. Hope this helps.

This sounds like a server issue. Which version of PHP are you using?

There seems to be a bug in both Akeeba Remote Control and the JSON API. I am going to release a new version of the component and the Remote Control application later today or, at most, by tomorrow evening.

Fixed! 4.03 is getting my profiles, thanks. Under way again...

(But, I notice there is a communication error in the control panel. Screenshots attached of panel and log (log won't copy to clipboard!!) )

That's not a communication error, that's an invalid site definition. That first entry doesn't have a domain set up (see the http:/index.php... part? this is what gave you away ;)). Just delete that entry.
