After the Remote Control has been setup and automation scheduled, can I close the application or does it have to stay open in order for the automated backups to occur.

Hi, is an update likely that will enable minimising to the tray??
(As a stop gap to hide the taskbar button, a 'send to try' type app would be okay?)
Thanks in a advance for your help.

Not likely for the time being. Akeeba Remote Control is built using Appcelerator's Titanium application framework. The framework doesn't support (yet) minimizing to a tray icon. When this feature is supported by the framework it will also be added to the application.

But a send to tray app (actual title buttons) would be okay?

The only buttons I can add are minimize, maximize and close. They are already added. Titanium does not support sending the application to the system tray. Period. No workarounds, no nothing. The title bar icon is nothing but a shortcut to an application action. If the underlying framework doesn't support that action it can't be added to the application, therefore it can't be added to the title bar.

I did understand that. The minimise button I mentioned comes from a third party application that does send your programme to the tray and fixes the problem.
I was just wondering if it might conflict in some way and stop the schedule running. I'll find out soon enough I guess!

Here is a 3rd party program I found that will Minimize to the Tray.

There is a free 14 day trial. Loaded it and set it up. It appears to work.
