Hi,

I am using akeeba extract wizard. Trying to extract from the following split archives in JPA format provided from AbeebaBackup configuration.

1. filename.jpa
2. filename.j01
3. filename.j02
4. filename.j03 and others

During the extraction, the error message appears: Invalid archive format. Appreciate if what I have done wrong? Take a look at the attached.

Do advise.

Thank you.

Which version of Akeeba Backup did you use to create those archives?

Moreover, how did you download them to your PC? Did you use the donwload button/links in the Akeeba Backup "Administer Backup Files" page? Did you use Akeeba Remote Control? Did you use FTP? If you used FTP, did you manually enable the Binary transfer type as described in our Quick Start Guide?

Hi Nicholas,

Using Akeeba Backup 3.1.5 to create the split archives.

Yes, downloaded those files via button/links in the Akeeba Backup "Administer Backup Files" page. And what is it about Akeeba Remote Control?

Speaking of FTP, I neither use it nor remote control.

Thank you very much for your prompt support! :D

When you tried to download the files using the buttons a warning dialog popped up. Did you read it before dismissing it? It states that downloading the files through the browser can corrupt them under some browser/server combinations. This is what happened.

Please follow our Quick Start Guide's advice on downloading files for more information on the recommended, trouble-free way to download backup archives.

Right, I did read the same mentioned warning dialog pop up before dismiss it. No wonder the problem occurs.

Anyway, I shall use the recommend method then. Thank you for your advice.
