Hi,

I've downloaded Remote Control 4.0.3 for installation on my Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit box. (8Gb RAM, quad core Intel Q9450) The box runs ESET ENod32 (64-bit version) as it's AV.

Having read the quickstart PDF, disbaled the ESET, and install the RC msi (as an administrator), it'll get to almost the end of the install before coming up with an application error (pic attached) before letting me finish.

From that point, launching the program produces another error (another pic attached) and that's as far as it gets.

I had managed to install it once - despite getting the first error, it went through and downloaded the Titanium package and seemed to be OK. However, uninstalling it and attempting re-install fails.

OK, so as I was writing my post, I thought of something. Running a repair on the remote control application works without erroring. The copy and replace that a repair does, worked just fine, run as an administrator.

Secondly, there were some Titanium files still left in %username%\AppData\Roaming that I's missed (having cleaned out the \ProgramData\Titanium files earlier).

That's forced a redownlaod of the Titanium components when the program was launched, so it looks as if it's going to run successfully now.

And as a final update:

Everything works fine now, apart from the initial install error (pic 1) which can be overcome by running a repair once installed.

I shall now go back to sleep!! :)

The initial error is a bug in Titanium's installer. Unfortunately, it's out of my reach and I can't fix it :(
