Hi,

we've got the same error with site restore as mentioned here: https://www.akeeba.com/support/admin-tools/36613:max-allowed-packet.html

20220621|21:08:58|Unable to connect to the Database: SESSION variable 'max_allowed_packet' is read-only. Use SET GLOBAL to assign the value

How will look like the workaround or a solution for this problem?

Kind Regards,
Danny

There currently is a bug in MySQLi driver that is causing the issue. A new version will be released shortly, but you'll have to take a new backup for changes to take effect (the restoration script is embedded at backup time). In the meantime, can you please try to switch to PDO driver during database restoration? That should work around the issue.

Hi,

I've switched to PHP-CLI 7.4. Now it's working.

Thanks!
