I am trying to backup my site with the Remote Backup.

After installing and setting up was complete, I went to tried to preform a backup.

I received the following message:
"XML-RPC layer error: Invalid payload received from xml-rpc server"

I ran a FTP connection test in the Remote Backup and everything was ok.

I am able to backup my site form Joomla back-end as well.

When I went to "........./xmlrpc/index.php" I received this error message:
"faultCode 105 faultString XML error: Invalid document end at line 1, column 1"

I am not really sure why. Any help would be great.

Based on your description, there should be no problem. The error message you received is normal and really means "the XML-RPC service works, but you didn't tell me what to do".

To get the ARC remote file, start a backup and wait until it fails. Left- and then right-click the site's name. Select View Log from the popup. Use the Save Log button to save the log file as a text file. Then go to your site's back-end, open Akeeba Backup, click on View Log, select the XML-RPC origin and then click on the Download raw log file. Take these two files, put them in a ZIP archive and attach the archive here so that I can take a look and understand what is going on.

Here are the two files.

If you need anything else I should be around most of the day.

OK, FTP has nothing to do with that. You have a backup error.

First, upgrade to Akeeba Backup 3.2.4 to make sure you are not affected by an old bug fixed in the latest release.

Then, start a normal back-end backup (from your site's administrator). If that doesn't work, try following the troubleshooter's advice one by one until you can get a backup from your site's back-end.

Then go to Remote Control and start a new backup. If it gets stuck again, please attach the new set of log files so that we can take a look at them. Thanks!
