In 4.07 file download memory usage would go from 46Mb to about 315Mb for a 65Mb download and not release the memory after download is finished. In 4.08 the same size download will increase memory usage from 46Mb to 1103Mb and not release. The next backup of the evening pushed it to over 2.5Gb memory usage and then halted 34% of the way through. Killing the program released the memory. Not very useful as an automated backup!

That's as far as Appcelerator Titanium goes. I can't do anything about that, sorry. There seems to be no way to dispose of the download object.
If I don't find a solution to that, I might just drop the remote control client altogether. It makes no sense to me to keep on wasting my time with it.
