Akeeba Control Remote 4.0.9 don't work correctly.
I had to uninstall it. Install the version 4.0.8 everything still works normally.
I use Acesef and disabling the router com_akeba works with 4.0.8 but with 4.0.9 returns the error: Json decoding error.

Please read our news announcement for discontinuing Remote Control 4. Your problem is due to the fact that there are four possible ways to access the remote API URL. I am currently working on a command-line version of Remote Control which can automatically detect which one works with your site and use it to back it up and download the archives. This simply wasn't possible with ARC 4.

I'm saddened to read the announcement that Remote Control will be discontinued. It was a great feature. I've found it to be a very easy way to initiate a scheduled backup and then download it to my local PC for archiving.

I've tried 4.0.8 but it couldn't get past our proxy server because of authentication issues. Funny, because I have the MS Firewall Client installed that handles authentication and version 2.5.0.36 on the same machine has no connection issues at all.

I would have kept using version 2.0 but if you are going to remove all support for it in upcoming Akeeba Backup releases, I'd better find a new ftp synchronisation app that can download files from the backup directory on cue. What a pain!

I am working on a command line tool which does exactly what Akeeba Remote Control did (run a backup and automatically download a backup archive through HTTP, FTPS or FTP) and supports some more features like:
- Download through SFTP
- Automatically update Akeeba Backup
- Download arbitrary backup archives
Since it is a command line app you can even put it on Site B, use it to backup Site A, download the backup archive directly to Site B and then be able to run a restoration.

I would have already published it but Joomla! 1.7 came out (so I had to modify the software to support it), I had to fix some pressing bugs in Akeeba Release System and Akeeba Subscriptions and now I'm going to Joomla! Day Chicago. When I get back I assume I'll be able to publish it, finally!
