This is a suggestion based entirely on my laziness, but I thought I'd put it out here.

With the new password storage algorithm, there seems to be the likelihood that we'll be updating the Akeeba Download ID more often than previously (which was pretty much never) and if we are Pro users of both Akeeba Admin, and Akeeba Backup, we have to update this number twice on each site. It might be nice to have a button in the Pro versions of each component that could update the other component with the new ID, thereby removing a few steps in the updating process for us Pro users.

Just a thought.

That would create a hard dependency between all of our components. In simple words, you would have to install all of them at all times, even if you only need one of them. Moreover that would mean that if only one of them gets updated we would have to release new versions of all of them. Adding or removing a component would require the same. There are many paths to insanity but I can't think of a faster one.

Besides, you can use the Add On Download IDs which never change. This feature is available on our site under the My menu (far right at the top menu). You can even create a different add on Download ID for each site or group of sites. It is really convenient. Since you're going to be changing the Download IDs on all of your sites I would strongly recommend that you use that feature. It will only make your life easier.
