1) Since support will stop in January, 2015, does this mean development will stop? Should we no longer commit to Akeeba subscriptions in the future?

2) If the answer is "no" to the previous, is it possible to have customers sign up for additional subscriptions using the same email address without getting "invalid email address" message? In other words, buy multiple subscriptions under the same joomla identity, or remove the joomla identity requirement altogether?

Hello Brock,

Support for Akeeba Subscriptions stopped on June 2014, as announced in November 2013. I am not sure where the January 2015 came from? Here's our announcement which addresses your questions: https://www.akeebabackup.com/home/news/1534-the-future-of-akeebasubs.html

2. You can already do that, as long as you log in to the site before purchasing an additional subscription or renewal. Otherwise it would be a TREMENDOUS security risk. Think about it. If I knew your email address and had some money I could hijack your account with a different password. I could then immediately log in and change the email address. Afterwards I could simply look into your account's private information (e.g. your private tickets) which would be a treasure trove of information, maybe containing even passwords to your site.

As for subscriptions not linked to a Joomla! user account, it makes no sense. Akeeba Subscriptions is a subscriptions software, i.e. lets you buy time limited access to specific Joomla! user groups. How could that ever be possible without having a Joomla! account? Maybe you are looking for a CRM software instead?
