Hi,

I'm deluxe subscriber since many years, because I'd like to pay for good software and good service. But today I must realize that my deluxe account is not all inclusive anymore. Now you start to exclude primary software like Akeeba Solo and Akeeba WP. Why that?

If you increase to 100$ or 120$ I would understand, but keep your promise and keep all inclusive. This is what I ordered!!

Dear Jörg,

As you can read, the DELUXE subscription's description reads exactly:

The all-in-one deal! Unlimited sites / domains license.

Get one year access to downloads and support for all of our components for the Joomla!™ CMS*.

* Excluding Akeeba Subscriptions. Support for this product has been terminated. WordPress and standalone products are not included.

Akeeba Solo and Akeeba Backup for WordPress are not components for the Joomla! CMS. They are, respectively, a standalone PHP application and a WordPress plugin. Including them to the bundle would add another 60 Euros, taking its price to 150 Euros. That's a steep price increase which infuriates people, as we found out when we had added Akeeba Subscriptions to the Deluxe bundle two years ago.

To that end, we made the purchase of Akeeba Solo and Akeeba Backup optional. However, if you are already a DELUXE subscriber you buy them with a big discount, 36 and 24 Euros each. That's the same 60 Euros you'd be paying should the Deluxe bundle include them right from the start. We believe that letting you purchase this software separately, only if you need it and for the same price they would add to the Deluxe bundle should they be included, is the most fair way for all of our clients.

I don't know when you start to change this, I downloaded Akeeba Solo pro 2 months ago without any problems. So I thought it is part of the big package.

We changed that text on April 1st, 2014, the very same day we released Akeeba Solo and Akeeba Backup for WordPress. The beta versions were available to all subscribers, no matter of their subscription level. By mistake, versions 1.0.0 to 1.0.3 were also available to all subscribers just like the betas. As we had clearly announced on April 1st, the stable versions are now only available to subscribers of the SOLOPHP and BACKUPWP respectively. Let me quote the announcement text:

Akeeba Solo and Akeeba Backup for WordPress are currently in beta phase. As a limited time promotional action, access to beta releases is granted to all subscribers with an active subscription in the AKEEBABACKUP, ESSENTIALS and DELUXE subscription levels. Akeeba Solo and Akeeba Backup for WordPress will get into their stable phase in less than a month. You will need to purchase a separate subscription for Akeeba Solo and Akeeba Backup for WordPress. There are two new subscription levels, SOLOPHP for the standalone Akeeba Solo and BACKUPWP for Akeeba Backup for WordPress. You can use coupon code BACKMEUP for a 50% early bird discount on these two subscriptions. Hurry up! This special offer expires on May 1st, 2014.

You can verify that the text of that page has not been changed since April 1st using the Wayback Machine. Granted, it took us a little longer to get out of beta than we expected (almost 3 months instead of 1) but we stuck to the plan as announced.
