I wanted to install Akeeba on my 3rd website (on a subdomain, for now), but I got this message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING or '(' in C:\domains\nr71.nl\subdomeinen\sub\wwwroot\wp-content\plugins\akeebabackupwp-2\helpers\bootstrap.php on line 9

What to do?

Please upgrade PHP. You are using PHP 5.2 or lower which has been end of life for more than 4 years and is no longer supported.

Please note: this is not a pre-sales request. You should ask your support questions in the appropriate category of our ticket system.
