 Hi Nic, I just realised that I need a different subscription to ask for ARS support. How can I upgrade my Essential to Deluxe? Or should I wait till August and then renew in Deluxe?

You can upgrade any time you like. In fact, upgrading before your subscription expires will get you an automatic discount based on how much time you've got left in your current subscription. The new JOOMLADELUXE subscription will start counting the minute you pay for it and last for 365 days.

.... hmm. that was strange. I just did the Deluxe subscription. First my VAT ID all of a sudden is not valid anymore. And the promised discount as in "If you wish to renew your subscription, doing so before it expires gives you an automatic 30% discount." did not apply. What step did I miss?

It's an upgrade, not a renewal. The 30% discount applies –as explicitly stated in the emails we sent you– if you renew the subscription on the same subscription level before it expires. When you upgrade there's no renewal discount. There's only an automatic discount based on the subscription time left in your old subscription as I explained above.

As for your VAT ID, it is validated against the European Union VIES system. It's actually the only way to validate a VAT ID. It's also the service with the worst reliability I've ever seen in a web service. Two years ago all Spain VAT IDs would appear invalid for two and a half months, exactly smack into the Christmas period. Fun (not)! *sigh*

Support Information
