 I am a former user of Akeeba for Joomla, need to renew that license. I also need to back up WordPress sites.

If I bought Akeeba Solo, can I do incremental (or in my case certain directories and files only) just like Akeeba for Joomla?

And if that is correct, would Akeeba Solo be better for me?

Hello Ronald,

Akeeba Backup for Joomla, Worpdress and Solo share the same engine: they are different cars, but the engine is still the same.
The only difference is how they are integrated with the CMS you are currently using.
Akeeba Backup for Joomla and Akeeba Backup for Wordpress are native extensions: this means that you can access them directly from your site backend and they are full integrated, for a seamless experience.

Akeeba Solo, on the other end, is an external app: this means that it can work with several different platforms out of the box, the only downside is that you have take some extra steps in configuring it.

My suggestion? Try Akeeba Solo Core (our free of charge version) vs a Joomla or Wordpress site: if you feel comfortable with it, you can purchase the Pro version, otherwise you can fall back to the Joomla + WP subscription.
