Why does my renewal invoice say 36 euro, but when I go to renew it, it is charging me 50.82?

Last year you had an active Akeeba Backup for Joomla! subscription. This gave you a 40% discount over Akeeba Solo, i.e. 60 Euros - 40% = 36 Euros. This year you do NOT have an Akeeba Backup for Joomla! subscription. Therefore you get the regular early renewal discount of 30%. 60 Euros - 30% = 42 Euros.

I am not sure why you get a 21% tax on top of that. I thought you are living in the USA which gets a 0% value added tax. Did your finger slip and you accidentally selected Belgium instead of United States in the subscription selection page? The first option in the dropdown is United States (0% VAT), the second one is Belgium (21% VAT). However, don't worry. As soon as you get in the actual subscription form and select your country of residence (United States) the tax rate will be updated to 0% and you'll be charged 42 Euros as you can confirm in the area above the payment button.
