Akeeba Release System is very well alive and kicking and has its own project page at GitHub
. Its releases are available there too
. We do not provide end user support, though. We only provide support to developers. ARS is an integral part of our site. As long as our company exists it will keep being developed. I assume you got confused because a certain person insinuated on Twitter that ARS is dead and Joomla! is looking to replace it? As far as I know our company is alive, well and has a bright future ahead of it, using ARS to deliver millions of downloads to several hundreds of thousands of people every year
I am not sure what you mean with "Remote Update System". Do you mean Akeeba Live Update
? That has been dead for several years since it's not needed anymore. Joomla! supports updating free extensions since version 1.6 and commercial extensions since version 3.2. As a result there is not need to provide a custom updater anymore. We only kept supporting it while our software had a minimum requirement less than Joomla! 3.2.
If. however, you mean Akeeba Release Maker
, it's very much alive and part of our official release process which we have made Open Source as Akeeba Build Files
. Akeeba Release Maker talks to Akeeba Release System on your site to create the releases and release items, as well as publishing the update XML stream. Akeeba Build Files automates the process of building and releasing software using Phing.
