I was just notified that my subscription for "Essentials for Joomla (Auto Renew) Subscription, which is great! Thanks,

But only for 3 months instead of what has been an annual renewal. If this is to help those that are having financial trouble due to Corona, I understand and applaud your being so flexible!

If it is for other reasons, I would just like to let you know I would prefer the annual renewal as this lowers the amount by 3/4s what I have to pay for so-called bank charges resulting from the Euro/Pound to US$ conversion.

Regards,

Jim

Hello Jim,

We only used to offer recurring subscriptions on a 3 month schedule. We have stopped offering automatic renewals for our software as of October 2020.

Regarding pricing and currency conversion, please note that your recurring subscription has a fixed price in US dollars. There should be no currency conversion on your side. Recurring subscriptions would be automatically charged in Euros, US$, CA$, AU$ or British Pounds depending on the country you chose when making the purchase. That was one of the reasons we stopped offering them. The fixed price in those currencies cannot be changed at Paddle, our reseller that handles the recurring subscriptions. We set the prices in July 2019 but the forex market shifted greatly due to CoViD-19 and we were losing quite a lot of money (up to 3 Euros in what would've been a 30 Euro transaction for individual products, a discount we can't really afford).

If you are still getting charged currency conversion fees or you'd simply prefer yearly renewals you can cancel the recurring subscription and go back to manual, yearly renewals.

Great explanation, Nicholas!

Been using your great software for years now and, when I have paid proper attention to what I was suppose to be doing, have not had any problems with hacking on my websites......THANKS to your great work!

Best of wishes for the New Year and hope that things get better for you and all your customers as well.
