Sorry, I'm not sure I'm in the right place but I couldn't find the topic on Akeeba backup :(

have just upgraded my site to Joomla 5 and I downloaded and installed the latest version of Akeeba backup (9.8.3). I am running PHP 8.2 and since the transition, when I make a backup, it no longer appears in the administrator/components/com_akeebabackup/backup folder. I have to download it via the component admin (Manage backups). The com_akeebabackup folder is at 755 in terms of permissions.

Check your backup profile's Configuration page. What is the Output Directory? This will tell you where you have told Akeeba Backup to store the backup archives in. Similar information is presented in the Manage Backups page, by clicking the info icon next to a backup record.
