Hi Akeeba team.

I'm here just to thank you for that amazing tool : PANOPTICON

I had to move from MySiteGuru for economical reasons. I Looked for an alternative solution to manage my 40 websites effectively and remember I saw something on Akeeba.

It is now 2 days I'm working with Panopticon and find it really amazing :

  • All what I need
  • Working super well
  • the only issue I met to make it work was to find the right path for PHP in my CRON job (not so difficult actually haha)
  • Maybe some difficulties to find all parameters, but this is just an habits issue, right ?
  • Kind of "free" as I get it via my BackUp/AdminTools subscription (which i've been using for more than 15 years now! )).

So : THANK TO ALL OF YOU !!!
And sorry to post that here, I did not find any "Panopticon" category in support (and nothing on JED as it is not a Joomla component, right? ).
Hope you will keep this product alive a long long time :-)

Thank you :)

Yes, finding all options is a bit different than using a service. There is a configuration page for the overall application, and per-site settings. In a service, you obviously only get the latter as it's the service operator that handles and has access to the former. The way you should approach this mentally is that you are essentially setting up and running your own site monitoring service.

Regarding JED, it's not there because it's not an extension. It's a standalone application which can be used by itself, or together with our software, against both Joomla and WordPress sites. There is no category in JED for software that can work with Joomla but is not an extension per se – nor should there be one. Maybe at some point I'll list the connector extension, like third party services do. It seems to be the proper way to handle situations like that.
