When we install admin tools the site seems broken with this 421 mismatch error,
when disable admintools the site is fine - but not protected.
Hope you can resolve this issue for us

This comes from the Allowed Domains feature in Admin Tools, Web Application Firewall, Configure WAF, Request Filtering tab. See the documentation here: https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/admin-tools-joomla/waf-configure-active-request-filtering.html
Make sure you include all domain names you are accessing your site as (with or without www). If your web server does not report the domain name to PHP you should instead remove all rows from the Allowed Domains feature to disable it.
