Hello, for personal reasons I am having to give up managing a lot of my clients' sites. Before I hand over the login details to the new developers for them to upgrade to J4, I want to downgrade my Akeeba Backup Pro account to the Free version.

Can you tell me the best way to do this?

N.B. I am using PHP 7.4x as the J3 sites are using BreezingForms which (until this week and I haven't tested it yet) is not PHP 8x compatible. There are a couple of other plugins in use which are not compatible with PHP 8x, either.

Thank you.

First go to the Pro component's Options and remove the Download ID. Click on Save & Close.

After Akeeba Backup reloads go to Extensions, Install and install the Core versions, twice in a row, without uninstalling it before or in between. This will downgrade Akeeba Backup to the Core version.

No problem about PHP 7.4, it's fully supported by us until at least August 17th, at which point we will move Akeeba Backup 8 for Joomla 3 to a security-only maintenance status.
