EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 10MiB, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

I apologize for filing this under Akeeba Backup, but I could not see otherwise how to ask this question regarding your Social Login Extension.

I just updated a website using this extension to Joomla 4.2.7 and I received a message that the original file corresponding to "/html/com_users/login/default_logout.php" has been changed.

Could you possibly tell me what I need to do about this?

Thank you very much.

SocialLogin has nothing to do with this file or this message. We NEVER change core Joomla files. This is called "hacking core" and is explicitly forbidden by the terms of the Joomla Extensions Directory, not to mention that it's a really idiotic practice I have personally warned other developers time and again not to ever do or consider.

What you didn't think about is that you have actually updated Joomla at the same time. Every time you update Joomla it knows which core files which have been overridden in your site's template have had changes made to them in Joomla itself. Therefore it gives you a list of files in your template that you need to review and possibly change to bring them in line with the latest version of the normative version shipped with the Joomla core.

However, this is a really "stupid" feature. All it cares is if the file has changed, not if the changes are meaningful enough to warrant someone going through the changes. Joomla 4.2.7 is the first release of Joomla in 2023. Most core files have had just their copyright date, or just some whitespace, changed in them. Joomla will tell you that these files have changed and you need to review your template's overrides.
