Hello,

To start with let me confirm that I have read your below two posts

https://www.akeeba.com/news/1747-joomla-4-is-around-the-corner.html

https://www.akeeba.com/support/akeeba-backup-3x/37678-joomla-4-upgrade-from-3-10.html#:~:text=Yes%2C%20Akeeba%20Backup%208%20is,then%20uninstall%20Akeeba%20Backup%208.

I have a very specific question though.

The Joomla pre-flight check shows two items as "update information unavailable". The entire emssage is

>>>>

Update Information Unavailable Extension does not offer a compatible version for the selected target version of Joomla. This could mean the extension does not use the Joomla update system or the developer has not provided compatibility information for this Joomla version yet.

The items related to Akeeba backup for which this message is show are

file_fef

file_fof40

Question - Even with the above two files remaining as it is - is it ok to move to Joomla 4 , take a backup and then move to akeeba backup 9 as suggested in your post? Will there be any issue on account of file_fef and/or file_fof40?

Yes, you can move to Joomla 4.

FOF and FEF are the backend and frontend libraries we were using before August 2021. These still work in Joomla 4, even though there is no software of ours which will use them. Come August 2023 we are going to publish a final update which will automatically remove them from your site.
