Dear Akeeba,

I'm attempting to migrate this website from Joomla 3.10.12 to the current Joomla 4 release. In the prep stages I was instructed to install your Magic Eraser extension and right after this install I got this error (screen shot attached).

An error has occurred.

I'm unable to navigate past this error in the admin portal. What do I need to do to get past this error screen?

regards,

Ed H.

You have an extension last updated before March 2015 β€”that's over 8 years agoβ€” which is using an ancient version of FOF 2 which we discontinued in June 2016. Since you've already used Magic Eraser it's some third party extension using FOF 2 (Magic Eraser removes all Akeeba extensions doing that, unless there is an error in Joomla or PHP itself).

Edit your configuration.php file, set $error_reporting = 'development' and retry loading the page. You should get a more detailed error message, showing which file this comes from. Send us this error message to help you further.

Nic,

Β

Thanks for your assistance and sorry for ringing you bell... the problem (as you noted) was being generated by another extension. As such, I contacted that developer and they provided an updated release that not only fixed this issue but is also Joomla 4 Ready. Thanks again!
