Hi There,

I have set Akeeba to run an automatic back up to OneDrive on our Joomla CMS site.

It was working fine for about a month but then suddenly stopped and it is now unable to process the job.

I have also tried uploading akeeba based backups to OneDrive through "Managing Backups" and it is throwing up:

"Uploading the backup archive failed.

The upload session for remote file WebsiteBackups/HiF/site-www.hifield.bham.sch.uk-20240307-121016gmt-KgY8FJRRUS5IZiVE.jpa cannot be created

Error quotaLimitReached: Quota limit reached"

I have tried deleting files in which Akeeba was suggesting could be casuing issues. But it still isnt processing the job to OneDrive.

Any suggestions would be aprreciated.

Many Thanks

Matt

The message from OneDrive tells you that you ran out of quota, i.e. the amount of space you are allowed to upload to that drive / folder.

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for the reply.

Are you talking about how much the service account can upload? Because if so they have 1TB available. And the previous backups haven't scratched the service.

Or are you talking about how much an account can upload at one time?

Many Thanks

The error message you received from Microsoft (OneDrive)'s side means that you have reached your storage quota. In other words, you've run out of storage space.

Please bear in mind that there are situations where your personal drive has plenty of storage, but you are still receiving this error message. For example, if you are trying to write into a shared folder or team drive it may mean that the owner of the folder / drive you are trying to write into has ran out of storage space, or they have applied a quota (maximum number of data you can write) which you are exceeding by uploading this backup archive.

In any case, this error message DOES NOT come from Akeeba Backup itself. It comes from the remote storage provider, OneDrive. Akeeba Backup simply conveys the error message it received from OneDrive. You will need to rectify the problem on OneDrive's side before trying to upload more backup archives with Akeeba Backup.

A simple way to resolve it is to delete older backup archives you no longer need. This will make enough room for you to upload more backup archives.

If you are not sure why you are receiving this message ostensibly having a lot of free space on your personal drive please contact the person managing your Microsoft on-line accounts in your organisation, or the person managing the family / business account of the shared folder / drive you are trying to write into, or if you are absolutely certain beyond any doubt that you are trying to write into your personal OneDrive storage space Microsoft itself. Kindly note that since this problem comes from a third party service we have no access to there is nothing more we can reasonably do to help you.
