This is a new site I'm in the process of building. I have already done many backups on the site without issue. Just now I did some edits then went to back up and got the following error:

Incorrect datetime value: '2024-03-10 02:23:49' for column `doa`.`xja2r_akeebabackup_backups`.`backupstart` at row 1

I understand this is a DB error, but don't know why it began just now or how to address it. I did reinstall Akeeba (without uninstalling), but this did not resolve it.

I believe the problem has to do with the fact that the US switches over to DST earlier than the rest of the world, and that your server may be set up with the wrong timezone. This would lead to a wrong calculation of the date and time value to express a date and time which cannot possibly exist. The time between 2am and 3am in your timezone, on the day DST comes into effect (Sunday, March 10th, 2024) does not exist. Clocks from from 01:59:59 to 03:00:00.

This also means you will not see this again until next year, on the day DST becomes effective again. Why not in six months? Going from DST to standard time means that the period between 2am and 3am is duplicated. Therefore, you can't have an invalid date and time.

Huh.. never thought about that. Thanks, Nicholas, it's working as expected now that I try it again.

You're welcome! I've been seeing date/time-related issues every six months the past 17 years. When my wife told me the US was switching to DST I told her "I'm pretty sure I'll have a ticket about it first thing Monday morning". I was not disappointed :D
