Hi,

I've migrated a site from J!3 to J!5 on our testserver and now I want to copy the new version to the live server. I made a backup of the J!5-version of the site and transferred it to the live server via scp. Everytime I fire up kickstart (tried free and pro) I get the error "Could not open [...]/installation/extrainfo.json for writing".

I did the backup multiple times using jpa and jps.I Even tried it using the site transfer wizard. Always get the same error.

I also tried it by importing the archive to the j!3 site and restoring it from wighin akeeba backup. Same error....

This means that your target server does not allow you to write files over SCP, or direct file writes through PHP. You should contact your host / server administrator.Β

This is a bit strange: We have more than 60 identical webhosting packages with this webhost and never had problems like this before. I'll ask them, if they changed anything

Ask them if PHP runs under the same user as your user account (i.e. the same user as your SCP sessions run under).

Also check if there is enough disk space, not just what is reported for your user account but also physically on the SAN storage pool, or local storage device (depending on how their infra is architectured).

I did, they said, there was nothing alike, I should just try it again, which I did and everything worked fine....

Not sure, what to think about this, but it works as intended now. Thank you
