Hello We are trying to move a website from Alfahosting to Webgo. The connection seems to be established, but the same error always occurs. Hope you can tell me the mistake.

Akeeba Backup cannot verify that the connection information you entered corresponds to the site URL you have entered. If you are trying to restore inside a subdirectory of an existing site this means that the main site is blocking access to the subdirectory; please contact your site administrator. In any other case you have entered the wrong connection information, most likely a wrong directory. Please contact your host and ask them for the correct connection information, including the directory, which corresponds to your the URL you have entered in this wizard. Then come back here, enter the correct information and continue with the restoration.

If the FTP/SFTP Directory you've entered does not correspond to the URL to the new site you have entered you will be told so. You CANNOT receive this message in error. If you get this message you MUST check that the directory corresponds to the URL you've entered. If you are not sure, or if you think that Akeeba Backup is wrong (it's not), do check with your host. This is the most common mistake people make. Trust us. This is exactly why we added this check.

As per your screenshots and the error message you copied, you have entered incorrect connection information. Depending on how you view it, you either entered the wrong connection method (FTP instead of SFTP), or the wrong initial directory for the FTP connection. Basically, you mixed up FTP with SFTP.

In screenshot WhatsApp Image 2025-06-07 at 16.02.321.jpeg you are showing me FileZilla connecting to your host via SFTP (file transfers over SSH).

In screenshot WhatsApp Image 2025-06-07 at 16.02.31.jpeg you are showing me the Akeeba Backup configuration. However, unlike FileZilla, you are using FTP which is a different protocol, in need of a differently structured initial directory and directory to your site.

Either change the protocol you use, or the directory. You can't mix and match between FTP and SFTP.
