I made a backup of a site on a staging environment, then I restored it on the production server. First unusual thing: kickstart regenerated a configuration.php stating that I had to upload it manually on the server root. Then I noticed that all the new images added on the staging site weren't present, as well as the CSS file was not updated. So I checked the backup jpa file: it was 9 Mb (it had to be about 600 Mb). Tried to make another backup on the staging site, and noticed the step "backing up files", usually very long, was skipped in a second.

So, I think that, for some reason, Akeeba did not backup the files but only dhe Db.

If that could be significant, I set up Akeeba in the original backup (on production, then restored on staging a few days ago) to skip a single huge video file (about 900 Mb).

Can you please help?

Thanks in advance

Marco

These two log lines tell me that you have left the Temp-directory in your Global Configuration empty, or set it to your site's root (these two are functionally the same; Joomla uses the site's root as the temp-directory). Besides that being detrimental to your site's security, it also makes Akeeba Backup not back up your site's files since Akeeba Backup will always skip backing up the site's root. Fix that problem, and retry backing up.
