Hi Nicholas and team

Quick question - is it possible to reset my Panopticon password? I'm the only user and for some reason my password won't work. I used the same method as Joomla when resetting the password via PHPMyAdmin by changing the password in the DB and setting the field to MD5 - no joy.

I've had a look at the GitHub Wiki & comments section but from what I can see there isn't a solution posted?

I'd appreciated any assistance you can offer.

Cheers

Martin

The password is hashed with bCrypt. Panopticon does not support MD5 as it's insecure. Using an online bCrypt tool we can see that the hash for password is $2a$12$Zd3CJhuidvBpmbLoCi5QxOlx.slMw58aQMUOJePzktfW6FyQ309H2

Put this in the database, and you can log in with your username and password as your literal password.

Thanks Nicholas,

Do I need to set my field "type" to any specific value?

No. Do NOT change the schema (table definition)! Only change the value in your user record.

Ok, I thought that might be the case, but wanted to check first.

Sadly no dice, I still get wrong user/pass message.

I'm not sure where to go next but I'll keep trying ....
