Akeeba Backup for Joomla!

#42401 I updated the Akeeba Backup version and scheduled tasks stopped working.

Hi, I have Akeeba Backup Professional, and I have a scheduled task at 2 AM that performs a full backup of the Joomla site. The system prompted me to update Akeeba to version 10.1.0. After the update, the scheduled task, which I had configured through the "Schedule Automatic Backups" option and which had been running successfully for 310 consecutive days, stopped working. The scheduled task appears in the Akeeba configuration, and I don't see any errors, but it's not running automatically as before. I even ran a test, and it didn't show any errors.

Could you help me figure out what the problem is?

Do you have a different scheduled task of the type "Joomla! Update Notification"? If so, you will need to disable it. There is a bug in Joomla 5.4 and 6.0 which makes this task fail with a PHP error. Because of that error, Joomla will retry running this task, fail again, rinse and repeat. As a result, no other task will execute.

As for the backup tasks in our software, they work perfectly fine on Joomla 5.3, 5.4, and 6.0 using PHP 8.3, 8.4, and even the release candidate of the upcoming PHP 8.5 version!
