I tried submitting a ticket but Cloudflare blocked me for some reason

We migrated a Joomla 3.x site to Joomla 6. Uninstalled Akeeba backup, performed a new installation, and connected post processing to Dropbox. Now:

• We get 2 backup files — ending in j01 and jpa
• Each of these files are ~1.5gb whereas previous single jpa backups were ~400mb

Not sure where to start to fix this.

I would start by looking at the log file. Download it locally and open it with something like Notepad++ which can handle large files. Search for large file. This will probably show you that you have some leftover backup archives or other really big files, as well as which they are and where they are. That's literally the first thing I do when someone comes to me with this question and gives me access to their site. 99% of the time the answer is right there!

Question —

At what point does a 'large file' get identified in the log? Is there a minimum file size that triggers this?

Again, thanks for your wonderful Joomla products and support over the years!

Any file over 1 MiB is treated as a "large" file. There are historical reasons for this which had to do with how ZIP files were created. I kept it like that because the number of files over 1 MiB is fairly small on a site, and they do tend to be either big media files (easy to spot and ignore in the log), or accidental leftovers.
