I thought I was subscribing to Akeeba Backup Professional for Joomla, but in my subscriptions it just seems to be regular and the site is trying to sell the pro version which is what I thought I had. I have been subscribing for years but now I will actually be launching site soon. What is going on? I just renewed and I want the pro version(best version). Can you email me me instructions. I also can not find where to put in my product key, where is that?

You are subscribed to Akeeba Backup Professional for Joomla. There is no subscription to the free of charge Core version. By definition, the Core version is available to anyone, whereas the Professional version requires a subscription. The name of the subscription is "Akeeba Backup for Joomla!" for brevity. Yes, I know, it's not very brief – but if I added "Professional" it became so stupidly long the layout broke everywhere!

Log into our site, go to the Download page and you can download the software.

Regarding the Download Key. We have asked for a Download ID to be able to update the software since 2011. We were managing it in our component. Ever since Joomla 4.0 came out in 2021, the Download ID is managed in Joomla directly (they added support for this) and is called a Download Key. Whether you make a donation is entirely up to you. I will definitely appreciate it if you did, but please do not feel pressured to do so if you can't spare the money.
