Hi all,

I'm getting a weird problem when trying to backup a particular website with Akeeba 3.1 Stable. No doubt like many of you, I have Akeeba installed on all my sites and it works (usually) perfectly. However, I don't think the problem is with Akeeba, but I was hoping an expert might shed some light on it.

I backup as normal (the website http://www.cherryhealey.com ) but when I restore on my WAMP, you can see what happens from the attachment.

The reason I don't think it's Akeeba is that if I ftp the files across and use PhpMyAdmin to export/import the database, I get exactly the same result.

Obviously not being able to take a reliable backup is worrying in itself and there are several components on this website that I need to update and want to take a backup first (obviously...).

So, can anyone suggest what the problem is??

Many thanks everyone,

Dave.

Hi David,
What version of php are you using on your WAMP stack? Akeeba Backup requires PHP 5.1.6 or later, ideally PHP 5.2.x.

Steph

Hi Steph,

Thank-you for replying. I wonder if this helps:
localhost on WAMP
Apache 2.2.11
PHP 5.2.11
MySQL 5.1.32-community-log
Database collation latin1_swedish_ci

Live Server
Apache ???
PHP 5.3.3
MySQL 5.0.51a-24+lenny4-log
Database collation latin1_swedish_ci

Also, I use the version verification tool. It's current at version 1.5.20 and the site is 1.5.21, but I ran it anyway as it wasn't a huge patch from 1.5.20 to 1.5.21 and the only files that aren't the same as they should be are those that have been patched. So, it must be something to do with the database export/import process?!

This was a good one! I didn't realize what I was looking at until I checked the live site. I think this is a $live_site problem. Enter the full local site address in the $live_site variable in the configuration.php file. The address should include the http:// protocol prefix, it should not include a trailing slash.

Hi Dale,

Many thanks for the reply, but I still don't think we've got to the bottom of it yet!

This is the setting in my local configuration.php:

var $live_site = 'http://localhost/cherry';

Which is as I think it should be... :/ Or should I have that set differently?

Hmmm....... any more thoughts pleeeeeeeeease?

Dave.
