There's a bug in this I believe. I set my archives to be encrypted, run a backup, everything works fine. Then a cron backup runs, then the next time I run a backup from the back-end it tells me that I have not set a password, yet it is there in the configuration options. Sure enough the archives are not password protected. I am backing up to a remote ftp server in case that makes any difference. Any ideas how to fix this, please? It seems to me like a bug with the software.

EDIT: I only get this with one of my 2 backup profiles now. I experience it only when backing up files. My DB backup profile is working fine. But I previuously experienced it with the other profile too. I stopped the error by changing the encryption code before, but the error has now started again.

Yes, this is a bug. The secret key will be reset in all backup origins (front-end backup, CRON backup, XML-RPC used in Remote Control) except the back-end backup. The permanent fix will be issued with version 3.2.b1, scheduled for release this week.
