Have previously run backup successfully from backend, but Lazy keeps failing. Have several other sites functioning properly with same configuration.

The Lazzy Scheduling plugin is deprecated and will be removed in Akeeba Backup 3.3. I suggest you try using the other scheduling options available, e.g. a native CRON job or a CRON job using the front-end backup feature.
