Description of my issue:

First, I'm a new Pro customer. The products, documentation and support are some of the best I've ever found. I've installed on 10 sites with S3 backup so far and all work great.

I think (and hope) the answer to this question is yes, but I need to verify. A client I just took over has a bit of a jumbled site. It's all joomla, though. The question is whether when I do a complete backup of the main site, I capture every domain file set and database on the server under this one cpanel. Here's what the site has:
1. Some addon domains don't have separate DBs; they are tables within the main joomla db.
2. Some are normal addon domains with their own separate DBs under the same cpanel.
3. There is one WordPress db that doesn't seem to be tied to anything (but you never know).

So will I, with one backup, capture everything I need to perform a total restore for all these related sites if needed?
Thanks.

Thank you for your kind words!

The answer to your question is "it depends".

First, the databases. If all sites' databases are inside the one and same database (they just use different prefixes) you need do nothing special. If not, you just need to use the Multiple Database Definitions tool in Akeeba Backup's control panel page to include all the databases whose connection information is different than your Joomla! site's database connection information.

Them the files. If all the add-on domains are subdirectories of your Joomla! site's root directory, you need to do nothing further; they will be automatically included unless you explicitly exclude them. If each add-on domain uses a different directory above the Joomla! site's web root, you have to use the Off-site Directories Inclusion button in Akeeba Backup's control panel page to include them in the backup.

I hope that makes sense :)

Thanks, nicholas.

After adding a database, I downloaded a copy of the backup and unzipped it using your tool. I opened it to see if the extra database was there. Inside installation->sql I found what seemed to be sections of the two databases. The original was in the form joomla.s01, joomla.s02, etc. The other was in the form 1B6H1234-[name of db].s1, etc. So it looks as if both databases were captured. Is this correct?

Yes, that's correct! You have set it up correctly.
