Description of my issue:

Dear Sir!

I'd like to migrate my subdomain1 to the main domain (to the root directory) but I'd like to keep all the other subdomains as they are (subdomain2, subdomain3 etc)

Would it be easier by using FTP, or Akeeba is the solution? If it is, how can I do it properly? (by creating "database first" at Godaddy for example?)

Thanks

Sandor

Any way you chose, it's the same thing. Essentially, all you need to do is to move the files from the subdomain to the main domain. This has nothing to do with other subdomains on the same host, so you should have no problems.

Do note that after migration you may have some broken URLs and images. This is normal. All WYSIWYG editors tend to store absolute URLs (i.e. http://www.example.com/something.html) instead of relative URLs (i.e. /something.html) which will break links once you move your site. That's easy to work around. Just install Admin Tools Core and use our SEO and Link Tools feature's Link Migration option to automatically rewrite those broken URLs.
