Description of my issue:

I am new to Amazon s3 and cloud backup in general.
I see that Akeeba requires that I add my access key and secret key to the config system.

The problem is that I want to set up lots of client web site Akeeba installations to backup to a single Amazon S3 account. Some of my clients have backend Joomla access and therefore could easily see the access key and secret key.

Surely there are security risks with this?

What should I do?

Thanks
Brendon

What you are doing is potentially unsafe as any of your clients can have access to any other client's backup archives. You can, however, do something super easy. Just create some new Amazon accounts. Then, give them write privileges to one bucket each. All buckets owned by your primary account. Assign one of those extra accounts to each site.

The result is that each site is isolated from the other. They do not even share the same bucket. All charges are accumulated to the bucket owner, which is your account. This way you have both security and accounting control. Easy and secure :)
