Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the forum before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: 7.0
PHP version: 5.2.13
MySQL version: 5.1.56
Host: My Own
Akeeba Backup version: 3.3.1

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue.

Description of my issue:

Everything was fine at first and then I could not access the Control Panel or the Akeeba component. I disabled the Backup Notification Module and was able to get into the control panel. However I am still not able to get into the component.

I have 1.7 on another site (same server) and it is working great so I am not sure what the conflict is? I set error reporting to max but I don't get any errors other than a 500.

Did everything work successfully with the installation of Akeeba Backup? Were there any errors? I am assuming this is a fresh install of Akeeba on a fresh install of Joomla 1.7? Or, did you upgrade this from Joomla 1.6.5 or earlier?

I would attempt to reinstall the Akeeba Backup software as many times the 500 error is caused by a mis-installed component. Some piece or table might be missing.

Are you running anything else in conjunction with Akeeba Backup like Admin Tools?

earthrat
Yes, this is a fresh build not a migration. Its odd because there was no errors on install and in fact it worked great. Right after install I configured it and took a backup. It was not until after working in an article that I went back to do another backup that I noticed it had failed. The only two locations that return an error was of course the component and the Control Panel (until I disabled the module).

I deleted Akeeba Backup and re-installed again with no errors. I am wondering does the extension leave anything in the database when it is deleted from the site? Perhaps I should delete it again and remove anything left in the database and then try another install?

Here is the error log from the admin side and all the errors are coming in for Akeeba. Hopefully this will help...;)

Well after further investigation I have found the issue is with NBill user registration and not Akeeba. Sorry for the false alarm...;(

I'm glad we could try to be of help in resolving your issue. At least now you have a direction and a component to be able to resolve the issue.

We appreciate you using Akeeba products. We're here to help if you run into further issues with Akeeba.

I just wanted to report that Nic took a look at this and found a problem that was causing the trouble. This latest release (3.3.2) fixed the issue between these two applications.

rkendallc
Thanks for the update! I'm glad he was able to resolve your issues with your other extension and have both living happily together.
