Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the forum before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: 1.5.23
PHP version: 5.2.17
MySQL version: 5.1.57
Host: Windows 2008 with IIS 7.5
Akeeba Backup version: 3.3.2

Description of my issue:

I have just installed the pro version of your (excellent) backup system on two (almost) identical servers. On one of two servers, when I call the Multiple Databases Definitions configuration page I don't see the "+" icon to add new DBs, so I cannot effectively add *any* external DB to my backup (and I need to: I purchased pro version mainly for this!).
I suspect it's a problem related to some JS library that is needed on that server? Or...?
Any help?
Thanks in advance

This sounds like a server configuration issue. Make sure that the media/com_akeeba directory and its contents have sufficient ACLs to allow the web server to read them and deliver them to your browser. Since you're using IIS (therefore Windows) I can not give you an easy way to do that. You will have to ask your host about the proper way to do it.

Nicholas, thanks, it sounds like we are on the right direction: on that server the installation of akeeba component (apparently successfully) has terminated with a blank error page.
But modifying ACL on media/com_akeeba doesn't correct the problem: any other idea on where to search for an acl issue?

When the component is talkathon ends up in a blank page it means that it has failed. Even thought the comment may load, it is not guaranteed that it will work correctly. By your account, I can tell that not all files have been copied successfully. I recommend taking a look at our documentation and following the manual installation procedure. You have to see the is ga lagoon finalization page before you can assume that the installation is successful and be able to use the component trouble-free.

Hi Nicholas: more precisely, also the manual installation ends with this (in italian) message:

"Impossibile visualizzare la pagina a causa di un errore interno del server."

Impossible to show the page. Internal server error.

It is very strange because this website and the server are running without a glitch since april. And also Akeeba seems to work without problems.
Thanks for your help

That's a timeout error on your server while installing the component. Please ask your host to increase the PHP max_execution_time, at least temporarily, until you can install the component.

Unfortunately not: this timeout was already set to 300. I tried to pull up till 3000 but the message remains the same.
I'm a programmer: any chance to go deeper in the installation code to see where it stops? (breakpoints or popup messages?)
Thanks a lot

Start with the server error log. What are the last 10-20 lines of it right after the installation process crashes? This will tell us where to start looking.

Uhm, these are the last lines on the log file: immediatly after the POST of the installation form (?) the informations end.
Looking forward to ear from you ;)

Hi Nicholas,
the issue seems to be solved.
I think it was a problem of file permissions!
Thanks for your support.
