Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? N/A
Have I searched the forum before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? The Restore section
Joomla! version: (1.5.23)
PHP version: (5.2.6)
MySQL version: (5.0.5)
Host: (local)
Akeeba Backup version: (3.3.3)

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue.

Description of my issue: Hi, sorry if I am missing the obvious. I have a client site and used Akeeba and Kickstart to create a local copy, went perfectly. Client has updated their site and I want my local copy to match. Which method is correct?
1. Can I use Kickstart again on the local copy, even though it says to use start with an empty directory using Kickstart?
2. What happens if you put the remote backup .jpa file in the local folder and restore via Akeeba in the local admin?
3. Use the Site Transfer Wizard? (I read the entire Doc and used the site search function to look for it and did not find the Site Wizard described, just my luck?

Thank you!

Hi! All three methods will work, but the easiest one (less fussy and not overly technical) is the first one. Do note that it is not strictly necessary to remove existing files and directories. The restoration will work regardless of the existence of files and directories, but you may have to use Kickstart's FTP mode for the archive extraction to succeed.

It goes without saying, if you get stuck somewhere just post here and we'll be able to help you!
